GroupReady

Content & approach

Built around
the act of facilitating.

A useful session needs more than a topic and a handout. It needs a way in, a workable sequence, and support for what happens next.

Strong content. Practical support.

GroupReady pairs evidence-based group content and matched participant materials with practical guidance for preparing and leading each session.

GroupReady is designed for the practical work of preparing for and facilitating adult behavioral-health groups. The aim is to make the next part of the task easier to find: choose the topic, review the session, gather the materials, and lead with the guidance nearby.

The app connects planned preparation with in-the-moment support. A question or quick activity can be useful on its own. A complete session gives you more structure when you have a whole group to prepare.

Keep the session and materials connected.

Each topic has separate 30- and 60-minute sessions. Facilitator Guides, Participant Handouts, Sample Responses, and Complete Packets belong to the session you selected. Facilitator Mode supports following the sequence while you lead.

The session, matched materials, and facilitator guidance are prepared in advance, so you can review what you’ll lead before you enter the room. That gives you a consistent plan to work from and time to decide what fits your group or needs adapting.

Leave room for choice and judgment.

A group does not always follow the plan. People may be quiet, uncertain, distracted, or ready to take the conversation somewhere else. GroupReady’s Question Bank, Quick Activities, Group Is Stuck, and Someone Said tools offer additional places to start.

Facilitators should use their training and setting’s policies to make decisions. Participation can include passing, observing, or using a fictional example when appropriate. An app cannot assess the people in the room for you.

Sound content. Usable guidance.

GroupReady’s lesson plans, facilitator scripts, and participant materials are original curriculum grounded in evidence-based behavioral-health practice.

Established approaches and supporting sources inform the learning goals, teaching, discussion, and practice. The complete current curriculum has undergone independent clinical review.

That foundation is translated into the work of facilitating: what to prepare, say, ask, notice, and explore with participants. Prepared guidance helps the facilitator put the curriculum into practice while using professional judgment.

Find the sources behind the lessons.

In GroupReady, open Settings → Content & references for source titles, sections consulted, and notes explaining how they inform the original exercises. A group plan’s Sources and adaptation section connects its content to relevant references.

Examples of supporting sources include SAMHSA guidance on:

Source notes explain the practices informing GroupReady’s original sessions and materials. The references are available for further reading; the guidance needed to run a session is included in the app.

Professional support, with appropriate boundaries.

It is not a diagnosis or treatment service, a substitute for supervision, or a guarantee of outcomes. It does not establish compliance with a professional or clinical standard.

The intended users are appropriately qualified professionals and supervised trainees working with adults. Suitability depends on the group, setting, facilitator’s role, and applicable policies.

Have content feedback? Identify the topic, session length, or tool and explain the concern. Do not send participant names, identifying client information, protected health information, clinical records, or confidential treatment information.
