When you’re asked to cover

Someone called off.
You’re running group.

You have 20–30 minutes to prepare. Choose a session that fits your group, review the goal and materials, and know where you’ll start.

  1. Open a complete session.

Choose a topic and 30 or 60 minutes. The lesson plan and matching participant materials are already built.

  2. Review the plan.

Read the Facilitator Guide for the session’s sequence, what to say, and what to ask.

  3. Get materials ready.

Print or open the matching Participant Handout. Review the Sample Responses to see examples of how participants might respond.

  4. Lead with the guide.

Lead from the printed Facilitator Guide, or use Facilitator Mode to keep the next part in view.

Content, materials, and guidance

Complete groups.
Facilitator support built in.

GroupReady doesn’t just give you the group. It helps you lead it. The session and participant materials are already built. You can see what the lesson is trying to do, how to explain it, and where to take the conversation next.

GroupReady’s original curriculum is grounded in evidence-based behavioral-health practice. The complete curriculum has undergone independent clinical review.

The examples and activities give participants something recognizable to work with. The guide helps you explore their responses and connect the discussion back to the lesson.

Follow a group from preparation to close

Facilitator Mode

When group starts,
know what to do next.

Open Start the Group to set the tone, ask an opening question, and introduce the focus. Then follow the guided sections through to a structured Closing.

Say
Explain the idea and why it matters.
Do
Guide the activity, one step at a time.
Ask
Invite people to reflect on the idea.
Process
Connect what people share to the lesson and everyday life.

More Guidance explains what a step is working toward, why it matters, and what to listen for. It offers another way to ask and helps you connect responses to the lesson.

Set the tone with Start the Group, then begin the session.

While you’re leading

Halfway through,
the room goes quiet.

Keep the session in view with Facilitator Mode. When you need to change course, start with what’s happening.

Nobody’s talking. Or someone pushes back.

Group Is Stuck offers ways to approach the moment and reopen the conversation.

Someone says something difficult.

Use Someone Said to think through how to respond and where to take the conversation next.

You need another way into the discussion.

Open the Question Bank for a question and additional guidance on using it.

You have a few minutes left.

Choose a focused 5–9 minute Quick Activity, with instructions for leading it.

Who is GroupReady for?

Professionals and supervised trainees who facilitate adult behavioral-health groups, including counselors, social workers, behavioral-health technicians, SUD professionals, peer specialists, case managers, and interns. Use it within your role, training, supervision, and organization’s policies.

Does it replace clinical judgment?

No. GroupReady helps you prepare and lead; you decide what fits your group, your role, and your setting. It does not replace assessment, supervision, your organization’s policies, or emergency services. Read about its limits.

How is the curriculum developed and reviewed?

We start with a clear goal, build the session and matching materials around it, then work through how it will feel to lead. The original curriculum is grounded in evidence-based behavioral-health practice. The complete current curriculum, including both Free groups, has undergone independent clinical review. See how lessons are built.

Do I need an internet connection?

The prepared sessions and core tools work offline. For Pro content, your active subscription needs to have been verified on the device. You’ll need a connection for purchases and restoring Pro; subscription checks, external links, and some printing or sharing options may also need one.

Are Participant Handouts included?

Yes. Each complete session has a matching Participant Handout, Facilitator Guide, and Sample Responses to help you prepare. Both Free groups include their materials. Pro includes the materials for all 60 topics.

Can I print or export materials?

Yes. Open Handout & Print Materials from your group plan, choose a resource or Complete Packet, then use Save to Files, Share, or Print. Letter and A4 versions are available. Get printing help.

What is included Free?

Acceptance and Boundaries are included as complete groups in both session lengths, with their Facilitator Guides, Participant Handouts, Sample Responses, Complete Packets, and Facilitator Mode. Free also includes selected Question Bank questions, Quick Activities, Group Is Stuck and Someone Said content, plus all safety guidance.

Are new groups added?

Yes. New groups are added every month for Pro subscribers. All future Pro curriculum additions are included while your subscription is active.

What does Pro include?

Pro adds the remaining 58 groups, giving you all 60 topics in both lengths with their materials and Facilitator Mode. It also includes the full Question Bank, Quick Activities, Group Is Stuck, and Someone Said collections, plus new groups every month while subscribed. U.S. pricing is $9.99 per month or $89.99 per year, billed annually. You can try the two complete Free groups without subscribing.

Does GroupReady store participant information?

No. GroupReady has no participant profiles, attendance system, or clinical records. It keeps your preferences, favorites, optional recent-plan history, and schedule on your device. Please keep participant names, clinical records, and other confidential information out of support emails.

Can I use it in substance-use treatment?

The library includes topics relevant to adult substance-use groups, such as cravings, triggers, and recovery support. Choose sessions that fit your role, the people in your group, and your organization’s policies. GroupReady is not a treatment protocol or a claim of compliance with a clinical standard.

Can I use it on iPhone and iPad?

GroupReady is available in the U.S. for iPhone and iPad. See the App Store listing for device and operating-system requirements.

How are subscriptions handled?

Apple processes Pro purchases and handles subscription billing. Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled through Apple. Use Restore Purchases in the app to check existing access. Get purchase and subscription help.
